“All his films are works of art!” says hit producer Harold Faltermeyer about Willy Bogner Jr’s films. The man from Munich was responsible for the film music of “Fire and Ice”, and for many of the best skiing films of all time. With the title track composed by Faltermeyer and sung by Marietta Waters, he even scored a top ten hit. With “Fire and Ice”, Bogner gave it all he’d got - flares on the mogul slope, explosions in the snow and straddled ski jumps in front of walls of fire were among the highlights. The film was as convincing as it was imaginative: action, humour and unique landscape shots created a completely new skiing aesthetic - and that even on the big screen. “Fire and Ice” was the first sports film ever to find its way into the cinema.
