Beat the Freeze!

The icy cold on the mountain is a point of particular difficulty for winter athletes. Willy Bogner Jr always combated it with the latest technologies. In the 1986/87 winter season, he introduced the “thermo system”, the first ski suit with warmth packs that gave off their heat to freezing winter sports enthusiasts. This was followed in 1997 by the “Air Comfort System” (ACS), a thin ski waistcoat that could be inflated in the cold to noticeably improve the insulating properties of a ski suit.

Three years later, BOGNER came out with a ski suit heating system. Fine, movable heat conductors were fitted in the back lining of the wafer-thin BOGNER vests. Two small batteries in the side pockets supplied power for six hours of back warming on cold days.

Another innovation followed in 2002 with the sandwich jacket. The twinshell construction used a Gore-Tex innovation for sportswear for the first time. Two layers formed a sandwich: the outer layer kept wind and water out, but transported moisture away from the body to the surface. The inner layer protected the body against the cold, a combination that enabled significantly higher breathability than before. BOGNER solved another challenge in 2020 with the “BOGNER x Osram” collection. The innovative mid-season jackets with an integrated LED lighting system on the back guaranteed a stylish appearance even in the dark!
