Action at Krasnaya Polyana

Willy Bogner Jr is an absolute expert on all things Olympic - he was an Olympic participant in Squaw Valley in 1960, and equipped numerous Olympic teams with clothing that is as functional as it is elegant. Add to that his rich experience as a cameraman and director of winter skiing scenes, from 007 to “Fire and Ice”. So it was no surprise when the Russian bidders for the 2014 Winter Olympics turned to BOGNER when they needed an image film. Impressed by the spectacular mountain world on the Black Sea, he agreed. With him on the project were Olympic downhill champion Markus Wasmeier, snowboarding world champion Reto Lamm and freestyle skier Brice Lequertier. Steep descents, spectacular jumps, demanding night shots - on some days the team shot up to twelve hours in the mountains of Krasnaya Polyana. “If I know that a scene only has 80% quality, I don’t stop until I have 100%!”, that’s Willy Bogner’s doctrine. And the effort pays off, because the IOC was convinced by the thrilling action scenes and awards the Games to Sochi.
